I’m Julian Kolsut
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been telling stories. Now they are just on a bigger scale.
As a multimedia Journalist and news producer, I learned how to chase, capture and tell captivating stories on a daily basis in the deadline-driven world of television. My stories have been picked up by ABC’s Good Morning America, the BBC, Agence France-Presse and Sky News. I then embarked on the world of documentary film, where I worked in numerous producer roles, and continued to flourish. My team’s film “Grounded in my Roots” was awarded “Best Health & Nutrition Film” at IVFF, along with receiving an official selection at Maui Film Festival. I went on and applied my skills in the world of marketing, learning how to best tell a brand’s story. I’ve helped receive the approval for numerous multi-million dollar development projects including TELUS Ocean, a $100M major business and innovation centre in the heart of Victoria British Columbia. I’m now an award-winning producer with experience in the entire creative process. I am currently helping produce multimedia content for brands and individuals with tens-of-thousands to hundreds-of-thousands of followers, working with brands like BetterHelp.

Grounded In My Roots

Never feeling like she found a sense of ‘home’ in Canada, and only being connected to her Malawi and Indian roots through her mother’s stories and preparation of food, Nicolette Richer questions her belonging and identity in this world where she often feels alone. After becoming friends with like-minded people in her 20’s, she witnesses a close-friend’s father reverse his stage IV cancer using plant-based whole foods as medicine. With her tenacious entrepreneurial attitude, she began to dedicate her life to learning and teaching food is medicine. On her quest to help others reverse their diseases, constantly caring for other’s well-being and health, she sacrifices her own. Taking time away from her entrepreneurial endeavours, she travels to her homelands of Malawi, which equally became one of her greatest blessings and most difficult realizations.

Fire on Water reveals the modern life of Olympian and Canadian hero Silken Laumann, who more than two decades ago overcame what should have been a career ending rowing crash. She utilizes her courage, vulnerability, and ongoing healing journey to inspire others in her community. Her motivation, drive and spirit guide her as she launches her story-sharing platform “Unsinkable.” Her message touches youth who increasingly find themselves seeking resources to tackle their mental and physical wellbeing.
